Half of a Yellow Sun

Olanna (Thandiwe Newton) is one half of a pair of glamorous twins in newly independent 1960s Nigeria, a woman with money, a city life, and a lover she has chosen against what her family expects. Biyi Bandele sets her beside her sister Kainene (Anika Noni Rose), who takes a different man and a different road. Then the civil war arrives, and what stands between the two women is old rivalry and a betrayal each would rather not name.
