Hamlet

“Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.”

Prince Hamlet (Kenneth Branagh) comes home to Denmark wanting one thing, the truth about how his father died. He finds his mother, Gertrude (Julie Christie), already married to his uncle, King Claudius (Derek Jacobi), and war brewing at the border. Branagh directs the full uncut text of Shakespeare's play, and Hamlet carries his grief through every hall of the palace.
