Hamoon

Hamid Hamoon (Khosro Shakibai) wants two things he cannot seem to finish: his Ph.D. thesis and his marriage to Mahshid (Bita Farrahi), who is asking him for a divorce. Dariush Mehrjui follows him through flashbacks and dreams as he goes back over the years, hunting for the point where he went wrong. Hamoon is a middle-class man in Iran with a stalled thesis and a wife already half out the door, and he keeps asking himself what he did.
