“Every family has a few hang-ups.”

Eve Mozell Marks (Meg Ryan) wants her sisters to stop leaving the hardest work to her, and her father, Lou (Walter Matthau), has just been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital. Georgia (Diane Keaton) and Maddy (Lisa Kudrow) are tied to her mostly by phone, the same calls that have carried their love and their lunacy for years. Keaton directs and plays Georgia herself, working from a screenplay by Delia and Nora Ephron.
