Marina (Fumie Kashiyama) is the youngest daughter of the sea king, and her closest friend is Fritz (Mariko Miyagi), a young Atlantic dolphin. Tomoharu Katsumata directs this 1975 Toei Animation version, which stays near Andersen's 1837 fairy tale, tragic ending included.
