Happenstance

In this 2000 French film, a scatter of strangers goes about an ordinary day, and none of them knows that a small chance event in one life will touch the next. Irène (Audrey Tautou) and Younès (Faudel) sit at the far end of that chain of unlinked moments. Laurent Firode cuts between the separate lives with a light, quick hand, drawing each thread toward the others.
