“This holiday, everyone's secrets are coming out.”

Abby (Kristen Stewart) has a ring in her bag and a plan to propose at Christmas, until Harper (Mackenzie Davis) mentions, on the drive to her parents' house, that she has never told them she is gay. Clea DuVall, drawing on her own family, puts the two of them in a household run by Tipper (Mary Steenburgen) and Ted (Victor Garber). Abby is introduced as Harper's roommate and sleeps in a guest room that is down the hall from Harper's bedroom.
