(2014)Directed by Joe Swanberg82 min · RComedy, Drama

“Family is the gift that keeps on taking.”

Jenny (Anna Kendrick) shows up at her older brother's house with a suitcase and no explanation beyond the breakup. Joe Swanberg had his cast improvise all the dialogue, so the days with Jeff, his wife Kelly (Melanie Lynskey) and their 2-year-old son pass in loose, overlapping talk. Kelly has a life she has set down for the baby, and Jenny, who isn't sure where hers is headed, is now sleeping in the next room.
