“Don't believe the title of this Michael Haneke film.”

Anne Laurent (Isabelle Huppert) runs the family construction firm in Calais, and she keeps three generations of Laurents under one roof, her aging father Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) among them. Michael Haneke follows them through private setbacks, while the refugee camps sit a few miles from their door. Each of them is busy with their own trouble, and the family's position, name and comfort depend on never looking past the gate.
