“He doesn't play golf... he destroys it.”

Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) never made it in hockey, and now he needs a little over $270,000 to stop the government from taking his grandmother's house. His one real talent turns out to be a slapshot swing that sends golf balls a very long way, so he lands on the PGA tour. Dennis Dugan puts him up against the polished Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald), with the tour's publicist, Virginia (Julie Bowen), trying to keep Happy's temper off the greens.
