Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai

“Love Honour Revenge.”

In a feudal Japan where peace has left thousands of samurai without masters or money, Hanshirô Tsugumo (Ichikawa Ebizo XI) arrives at the house of a powerful lord and asks for a quiet place to end his life. Takashi Miike lets Kageyu (Koji Yakusho), the clan's steward, answer with a story of what such requests have cost before. Tsugumo listens, a poor father with a missing son-in-law, and begins to tell his own.
