Sarah Lloyd (Andie MacDowell) will not accept that her husband is dead. Harrison (David Strathairn), a celebrated photojournalist, has been reported missing in Yugoslavia in 1991, and she leaves for Bosnia to find him herself. Élie Chouraqui sends her into the war alongside photographers Yeager Pollack (Elias Koteas) and Kyle Morris (Adrien Brody), and Sarah goes on carrying Harrison's picture through the wreckage.
