Harry and Tonto

“Get a lift.”

When the city tears down his Upper West Side building to put up a parking garage, Harry (Art Carney), a retired teacher in his seventies, packs up his cat Tonto and heads across the country. Paul Mazursky sends them from one child's house to the next, with stops to see an old friend and make a few new ones. Harry spends most of it talking to Tonto, who is the one companion that stays with him the whole way.
