Hatching

“She's coming out of her shell.”

Twelve-year-old Tinja (Siiri Solalinna) finds a strange egg one night and takes it in, hiding it from a mother (Sophia Heikkilä) who cares most about how the family looks. Hanna Bergholm builds the story around Tinja's need to please, and what she is hiding is only growing. If the perfect picture her mother has staged cracks, Tinja stands to lose the one approval she has spent her whole life trying to earn.
