Haute Couture

A stolen handbag in the metro sends Esther (Nathalie Baye) after a thief, but the girl who took it, twenty-year-old Jade (Lyna Khoudri), never ends up with the police. Esther is the head seamstress at the Dior workshop on Avenue Montaigne, near the end of her career, and she decides to bring Jade inside. Sylvie Ohayon builds the story around a craft handed from one pair of hands to another, the only wealth Esther has to give.
