Leon (Jan Gunnar Røise), a kleptomaniac living in an Oslo institution, wants to find Åsa, the woman he made a marriage pact with ten years ago. His best friend Vidar (Trond Espen Seim) sees things no one else can, and on the hottest day of the year he moves through the city among strangers. Erik Poppe follows them in short, overlapping stretches, a couple expecting a child who will not live long, a singer past her best, a brother out on prison leave.
