“Beyond the edge of darkness there is a world of sword and sorcery.”

Hawk (John Terry) has lost his father and his bride to his own brother, Voltan (Jack Palance), and he goes looking for the weapon and the fighters to answer it. His sword is the "mind-sword," and his company is a giant, a dwarf, an elf with the fastest bow in the land, and a one-armed man carrying a machine-crossbow. Terry Marcel sends the five of them after Voltan, and Hawk has to earn the name Slayer.
