He Died with a Felafel in His Hand

(2001)Directed by Richard Lowenstein107 minComedy
“Some people will do anything to get out of paying the rent...”

Danny (Noah Taylor) is a young writer who drifts from one share house to the next along Australia's east coast, hunting for love, for meaning, and for an hour alone in a bathroom. Richard Lowenstein draws on John Birmingham's memoir and strings the rooms together as vignettes, among them Sam (Emily Hamilton) and Anya (Romane Bohringer). Under the mess is a plain question: where a person ends up feeling at home when no address lasts.
