Elias Combes (William Lebghil), a writer stuck on his second novel, chases inspiration from Paris to Rome's Cinecitta Studios in the 1970s. There he meets Léonore Alister (Clara Luciani), a movie star whose life seems to contain everything his lacks. He falls for her in the neon glow of late-night cafés, the two of them tangled in conversation as the city hums around them.
