Heart of a Dog

Moscow, 1920s, shortly after the October Revolution. A stray dog named Sharik is taken in by Professor Filipp Preobrazhenskyy (Evgeniy Evstigneev), a wealthy surgeon who then performs a daring experiment that turns the animal into a man. Vladimir Bortko follows Sharikov (Vladimir Tolokonnikov) through the professor's apartment, where his crude manners unsettle the household, and the idea at stake is whether a person can be made rather than raised.
