Heart of Glass

The foreman at a Bavarian glassworks dies without passing on the secret of the Ruby Glass, the red glass that made the village famous. The owner (Stefan Güttler) fixes on the lost formula, and the town sinks into a deep depression around him. Werner Herzog follows Hias (Josef Bierbichler), a local prophet in 18th-century Bavaria, who sees what is coming while the owner keeps digging.
