Heartbreakers

“If only your friends were as perfect as strangers.”

In 1984 Los Angeles, Blue (Peter Coyote), a painter nobody has discovered yet, is left by his girlfriend, who thinks he has not grown up enough to build anything lasting. His best friend Eli (Nick Mancuso) works in his father's garment business and goes through women one night at a time. Bobby Roth lets both men fall for Liliane (Carole Laure), Blue's gallerist, and the film ends with the two friends and their paintings and their unanswered wanting.
