Heat and Dust

Anne (Julie Christie) travels to India with a bundle of old letters, hoping to trace the life of her grand-aunt Olivia (Greta Scacchi), a woman the family has only ever whispered about. James Ivory moves between Anne's search and the story she pieces together, with Shashi Kapoor as the Nawab. The further Anne goes into Olivia's past, the more her own life starts to look like it.
