Heaven and Earth Magic

A woman with a toothache is the whole of the heroine, and she has just lost a very valuable watermelon. Harry Smith builds her world from cutout engravings, so dentistry, a trip to heaven and a fall back to earth all happen among pasted figures that jerk and swell and swallow one another. She is eaten by Max Müller on the day Edward VII dedicates the Great Sewer of London, and she has to find her way home.
