Heaven's Gate

“What one loves about life are the things that fade.”

A list of names circulates among the wealthy cattle ranchers of Jackson County, Wyoming, naming immigrant settlers marked for removal. Sheriff James Averill (Kris Kristofferson), a Harvard man, stands between the ranchers and the poor families on that list, while the mercenary Nathan Champion (Christopher Walken) is hired to help carry it out. Michael Cimino sets the two men on opposite sides, and both of them are drawn to the same woman, Ella Watson.
