“Murder money stained his hands....”

Don Starling (John Crawford) breaks out of jail and becomes the most wanted man in England, and Detective Inspector Harry Martineau (Stanley Baker) is handed the job of bringing him in. The trail runs through Manchester's seedy barrooms and gambling dens, back to a robbery that ended with a young girl dead. Val Guest shot the film on location in the industrial north, and the chase finishes high on the rooftops of the city.
