Hell Is for Heroes

“This is the living hell for heroes”

A squad of weary GIs heading for a rest area is ordered back to the line instead, and with them goes Pvt. John Reese (Steve McQueen), a soldier no one is quite ready to trust. Don Siegel sets them facing a German pillbox across a minefield, where a handful of men are left to make the enemy think a whole force is still dug in. Reese (McQueen) stays tightly wound, eyes fixed on the pillbox past the mines.
