“Happiness, jail or the grave?”

Tomppa (Samuli Edelmann) and Krisu (Peter Franzén) are small-time bootleggers in mid-1960s Helsinki, and they want the whole of Punavuori's black-market liquor trade for themselves. Aleksi Mäkelä, working from the novel Rööperi by Harri Nykänen and Tom Sjöberg, follows the two men from that decade to the end of the 1970s. At the start they are just young men running bottles around the neighborhood where they grew up.
