“How far will you go for beauty?”

Lilico (Erika Sawajiri) is the most famous model in Japan, and nearly all of her face and body has been rebuilt by surgery. Now the work is wearing off, and she grips her image harder while those around her pay for it, among them her manager Michiko Hata (Shinobu Terajima). Mika Ninagawa shoots it in glossy, oversaturated pinks and reds, and the beauty on screen starts to look like a symptom.
