Hemşo

Hemşo is a Turkish film from 2000, written and directed by Ömer Uğur. The story is set in a working-class corner of Turkey and centers on a grocer called Bakkal (Yıldo), a man whose small shop is the only thing he has to hold onto. Uğur keeps the camera close to ordinary people, and what Bakkal stands to lose is his livelihood and the place he belongs.
