“Start your engines...”

Maggie Peyton (Lindsay Lohan) has just come into possession of Number 53, a Volkswagen bug that seems to have its own ideas about where it's going. Angela Robinson sends the pair down the road toward NASCAR, with Maggie's father Ray Sr. (Michael Keaton) and Trip Murphy (Matt Dillon) watching from the stands. A small white car with a mind of its own has to hold its place on a track built for much faster machines.
