Herod's Law
“Why don't they want you to see it?”
In the 1940s, the Mexican town of San Pedro de los Saguaros has buried its last three mayors, each one murdered in quick succession. Juan Vargas (Damián Alcázar), a janitor, is handed the job and sets out to bring the town roads and order. Luis Estrada, in a film that named the ruling PRI outright, lets Vargas stand in the dust of the plaza with his new office and its first bribe.
