Hi, Mom!

(1970)Directed by Brian De Palma87 min · RComedy
“God bless our humble upper-middle-class high-rise co-op and keep it free from smut peddlers, militants, urban guerrillas and Greenwich Village liberals.”

Jon Rubin (Robert De Niro) comes back from Vietnam to New York wanting to make movies, so he rents a rundown flat in Greenwich Village and points a camera at the windows across the street. The neighbors become his subjects, and his film-making pulls him in with a radical Black Power group. Brian De Palma, working in grainy 1970 black comedy, shows a man who treats other people's lives as footage and cannot separate watching from taking part.
