“Trouble travels together.”

Luli McMullen (Chloë Grace Moretz), a 13-year-old in Nebraska, wants out of a house where her parents barely notice her, so she packs a pistol and sets off for Las Vegas. Derick Martini follows her hitchhiking West, where rides bring her to Eddie Kreezer (Eddie Redmayne), a cocaine-snorting drifter, and Glenda (Blake Lively), a volatile young woman. Every stranger who stops for her is a risk, and she is a child alone with a gun.
