Hidalgo

“Unbridled. Unbroken. Unbeaten.”

A Sheikh in Arabia has put out an invitation no one expected to reach America: a race across the desert, with a massive prize for whoever finishes first. Frank Hopkins (Viggo Mortensen), a Pony Express courier in 1890, crosses the world with his mustang Hidalgo to ride against Bedouins on pure-blooded Arabian horses. Joe Johnston stages the long ride in sun-bleached light and keeps the camera moving at the pace of the animals.
