“Meet the women you don't know, behind the mission you do.”

Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) are mathematicians at NASA, and each wants to be counted as an engineer, a supervisor, a mind the agency needs. Theodore Melfi sets their work against the Space Race and the effort to put John Glenn into orbit. The film is about who gets credit for brilliance, and how long that can be withheld.
