High Life

“Oblivion Awaits.”

Monte (Robert Pattinson) is alone on a ship drifting toward a black hole, raising an infant daughter after the rest of the crew has vanished. They were death-row inmates sent on a mission under Dibs (Juliette Binoche), a doctor whose experiments on them had motives of her own. Claire Denis keeps the camera close inside the ship's hull, so the walls and the hours press in on father and child.
