High Plains Drifter

“They'd never forget the day he drifted into town.”

No one in Lago knows the Stranger (Clint Eastwood) or what he wants when he rides in off the plains. He kills three gunmen who come at him, and the townspeople, frightened of three outlaws due any day, offer to hire him. Eastwood, directing himself, builds the story around a town that would rather pay a killer than look at what it has done.
