“A Dangerous Mind is a terrible thing to waste.”

Richard Clark (Jon Lovitz) walks out of the polished halls of Wellington Academy and into Marion Barry High School, an inner-city Los Angeles school where his D-average students have stopped listening. Hart Bochner points the film at the inspiring-teacher movies, from Blackboard Jungle to Dangerous Minds, as Richard tries to win over Victoria Chapell (Tia Carrere). It makes plain jokes out of the idea that one earnest newcomer can turn a school around.
