High Tide

“In the time it takes to get your car fixed your whole life can change.”

Lillie (Judy Davis), a backup singer, is fired from her band and left stranded in a small coastal town with a broken-down car. She ends up in a caravan park, where she crosses paths with Ally (Claudia Karvan), the teenage daughter she walked out on after her husband died. Gillian Armstrong's film follows Lillie as she lingers there, a woman with no job and no plan, who cannot get herself to leave or to speak up.
