Peter Perg (Murathan Muslu) comes home to Vienna in 1920 after years as a prisoner of war and finds a city he barely knows. When a former comrade is murdered, then more veterans after him, Perg starts hunting the killer with forensic doctor Theresa Körner (Liv Lisa Fries). Stefan Ruzowitzky sets the case inside a young republic strained by unemployment, where the men who fought the war have been left with nothing to return to.
