Hiroshima

In Hiroshima, the teachers and students of one school carry the memory of 6 August 1945 into the years that follow. Hideo Sekigawa builds the film from the eyewitness accounts of children collected in a 1951 book, with tens of thousands of the city's residents appearing on screen. Mineh Obah (Isuzu Yamada) and the others live in a city still rebuilding, where the day has left its mark on the children.
