Hit Man

“He's not a killer, but he can pretend.”

Gary Johnson (Glen Powell) is a quiet college professor in New Orleans who also works for the police, posing as a hired killer to catch people looking to pay for a murder. Then Madison Figueroa Masters (Adria Arjona) sits down across from him, and he finds himself wanting to help her instead of arrest her. Richard Linklater, who co-wrote the script with Powell, keeps the tone loose and sunny, in a story drawn from a real Houston professor's years as a fake hit man.
