A gangster's will leaves everything to two service station attendants, and the inheritance sits in a house the pair never planned to spend a night in. Chuck Murray (Bud Abbott) and Ferdinand Jones (Lou Costello) end up stranded there with a handful of other strangers, and the place seems to be haunted. Arthur Lubin sets the fortune against the house, and the two men have to get through the night to collect it.
