Holding the Man

“A love story for everyone.”

Timothy Conigrave (Ryan Corr) is an aspiring actor at an all-boys high school, stuck in a minor part in Romeo and Juliet, and what he wants is John Caleo (Craig Stott), the captain of the football team. Neil Armfield follows the two of them across fifteen years, through separations, jealousies and the disapproval of those around them. It ends on the pair of them as boys, John in his football jersey, Tim in his school play costume.
