“An astonishing drama of double life and double love!”

Johnny Case (Robert Ames) has become engaged to Julia Seton (Mary Astor), and the match carries more than he knew: she is the daughter of a very wealthy family, and he has built his life around doing as he pleases. Edward H. Griffith gathers the household around Julia's sister Linda (Ann Harding) and the Potters, each with an opinion of who Johnny ought to be. If he marries into the family, his way of living is what he has to give up.
