Holler

“Her time is now.”

Ruth Avery (Jessica Barden) has been accepted to college, and she means to go, even in a corner of Southern Ohio where the factories have emptied out. To pay her way she joins her older brother Blaze (Gus Halper) on a scrap metal crew, working the yards by day and stripping metal from the dead factories at night. Nicole Riegel sets the film over one hard winter and keeps the question plain: what a girl from here has to give up, and who she leaves, to get out.
