“Life doesn't have a playbook.”

Sean Payton (Kevin James) is suspended for a year from the NFL, two years after winning a Super Bowl as head coach of the New Orleans Saints, and he heads back to his hometown with nothing to do. He ends up coaching his 12-year-old son's Pop Warner team, which puts him on a small field beside Coach Troy Lambert (Taylor Lautner). Charles and Daniel Kinnane build the film around the boy and the father, who have to get to know each other again.
