“Some people live life blow by blow.”

Johnny Walker (Mickey Rourke), a shy cowboy and boxer past his best years, keeps stepping into the ring because it is the one thing he does well. Michael Seresin follows Johnny's unspoken feeling for Ruby (Debra Feuer), a feeling he never finds the words to say.
