Honey Boy

“sweet as honey.”

Otis Lort is 22 and a successful actor, yet a breakdown sends him into rehab, and in therapy he is told to write down his childhood. That means the years when Otis (Noah Jupe) was twelve, working on a TV show and living in a motel with his father James (Shia LaBeouf), a volatile ex-rodeo clown who is also his chaperone. Alma Har'el follows both timelines, and the film keeps asking whether you can forgive a parent who hurt you and still needed you.
